WATCH | Bookkeeper slapped with a 135-year sentence for fraud


JOHANNESBURG - Former Gauteng bookkeeper Lindelani Gumede has been sentenced to 135 years for 32 counts of fraud involving at least R11m of COVID-19 relief funds.

Some sentences will run concurrently, resulting effectively in a 20-year imprisonment sentence.

The National Prosecuting Authority has welcomed the harsh sentence.
