JOHANNESBURG - The Democratic Alliance is gearing up for its all-important policy conference in April before it elects a permanent leader.

Interim leader John Steenhuisen says the DA is on track to deliver a successful Policy Conference and Congress in April.

The party's federal council met at the weekend, with discussions centered around rebuilding the party, and trying to gain lost ground.

Steenhuisen will go up against the party's former Youth Leader, Mbali Ntuli and Gauteng Provincial leader, John Moodey, after Western Cape Leader Bonginkosi Madikizela pulled out of the race.
