JOHANNESBURG – Members of Parliament are debating President Cyril Ramaphosa's State of the Nation Address.

The Economic Freedom Fighter's MP, Naledi Chirwa said the government was complicit in murder.

“Your government Mr. President, is responsible for the most heinous of crimes,” said Chirwa.

Another MP challenged that claim.

The Red Berets then jumped to Chirwa’s defence but she eventually withdrew the statement.

The Fees Must Fall activist was making her maiden speech in the house.
