There can be nothing more frustrating than being stuck in traffic due to lights out because of power cuts. JOHANNESBURG - The Johannesburg Metro Police Department is warning citizens to abstain from directing traffic during power cuts.

Many people have taken it on themselves to direct vehicles in the absence of traffic officers.

However, the JMPD says they are not authorised to do this and the department will not be held liable if anything goes wrong.
