JOHANNESBURG - The Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Zweli Mkhize addressed Parliament’s CoGTA Portfolio Committee on Tuesday on municipalities that were affected by the VBS Mutual Bank scandal.
Last week, Mkhize met with the 14 municipalities that invested funds in the bank.
The briefing will look at the state of service delivery and the finances of municipalities that invested in VBS Mutual Bank.
It’s alleged that a total of R1,5-billion was deposited into VBS as part of a short-term investment plan.
Meanwhile, Members of Parliament will debate the VBS saga in the National Assembly on Tuesday afternoon.
