JOHANNESBURG - Former SARS commissioner Tom Moyane's bid to keep his job has been dismissed with costs
The court upheld President Cyril Ramaphosa's decision to fire Moyane.
Handing his judgment, Judge Hans Fabricius, said the interim report by Judge Nugent was commissioned lawfully.
Ramaphosa can now appoint a new Sars commissioner.
Moyane wanted the court to overturn his dismissal and prevent the Sars Commission of Inquiry from submitting its final report to President Cyril Ramaphosa.
The president fired Moyane on the recommendation of Judge Nugent's interim report.
But Moyane argued his disciplinary hearing should not have happened at the same time as the Sars Commission.
Moyane took over the revenue service in 2014.
Since then, it's had a revenue collection shortfall of about R100-billion.
