MTHATHA - Eastern Cape premier Phumulo Masualle says Reconciliation Day is meant to help South Africans bridge the divides created by apartheid.

A commemoration of the day is underway at the Walter Sisulu University in Mthatha.

President Cyril Ramaphosa will deliver the keynote address.

Government has asked South Africans to rally behind the #Iamtheflag campaign.

This as the Human Rights Commission reports that complaints of racial discrimination have increased by 34 percent.
