CAPE TOWN - Commuters and taxi drivers in the Western Cape are celebrating, with most routes now open following Monday's agreement by feuding taxi associations Cata and Codeta.
They have been at loggerheads since the beginning of the year, resulting in deadly violence.
However, taxi drivers operating along the B97 route, which remains closed, say they too want to operate again.
The suspension of the route between Paarl and Bellville could lead to the loss of livelihoods.
But the provincial government remains adamant this is in the best interest of both drivers and commuters.
