JOHANNESBURG - South Africa may have the cleanest drinking water in the world and is one of only a handful of African countries where it's safe to consume directly from the tap but this isn't the case for some parts of the country.

The picture could change drastically if officials don't pay more care to bolstering infrastructure development and maintenance.
