JOHANNESBURG - Two of the four people shot dead in Westbury, Johannesburg, in the past two weeks were buried on Saturday.

Residents believe gangs and drugs are behind the killings and many say they’ve become used to gunshots going off daily.

Pastor Kevin Stuurman says gangs have existed in the area for years.

He said the community must rise up and take responsibility.

“We need to say this far and no further and if they start shooting, then all of us need to go out as parents for these kids to what is happening," he said.

At the funeral, a community member -- who asked to remain anonymous -- showed eNCA a video of a man wounded in yet another shooting.

In the cellphone footage, the man can be seen being rushed to the hospital.

Some residents believe the violence and death will only end if the gang leaders are arrested.
