JOHANNESBURG - Eskom has moved from Stage 4 to Stage 3 load-shedding on Wednesday, starting at 8am.
Stage 3 calls for 3000MW to be rotationally load-shed nationally at a given period.
Load-shedding is conducted rotationally as a measure of last resort to protect the power system from a total collapse or blackout.
Senior general manager for demand management at Eskom, Andrew Etzinger, explained what exactly Stage 3 load-shedding-means.
