Western Cape authorities warn against use of fuel-saving devices

CAPE TOWN - The Western Cape Department of Transport and Public Works is warning motorists against using fuel-saving devices.

It says these products don't live up to their promises and are rather dangerous.

The department says the only way to offer relief for consumers is slashing fuel prices.

Motorists face another steep fuel increase in the week with the latest adjustment due to kick in on Wednesday.

"These products promise the world but they don't deliver anything and more importantly, they are dangerous, said the DA's Ricardo Mackenzie.
