JOHANNESBURG - The Whistleblowers for Change has welcomed what is contained in Part 1 of the state capture report.

They say the contents are important to motivate those who want to open the lid on corruption in South Africa.

The group says if recommendations on whistleblowing in the report are acted upon, the country could stem the tide of the delegitimisation of the state and the erosion of the rule of law.

Acting Chief Justice Raymond Zondo handed over the 874 page report to President Cyril Ramaphosa last week.

Whistleblowers who were courageous enough to expose corruption in government and private entities say it was not easy at all and compensation is needed.

The group says the recommendations, especially if implemented, would not only a victory for them, but for the country.
