JOHANNESBURG - Students at Wits University are continuing with their call for a shutdown.

The university, however, said the “academic programme and all university activities will go ahead as planned” for Thursday.

Entrances to Yale Road North and South were blocked.

Earlier in the week, some students went on a hunger strike.

The university's SRC began a shutdown on Monday to protest against insufficient accommodation and the exclusion of students with historical debt.
