HARARE - Civil society groups in Zimbabwe are accusing the government of using COVID-19 to stifle the opposition.

The country has banned by-elections despite 120 vacant parliamentary and municipal seats.

The groups are now calling on SADC to intervene but the government says the halting of elections is to stop the spread of the virus.
