JOHANNESBURG - Acting Chief Justice Raymond Zondo says Tourism Minister Lindiwe Sisulu has not only insulted the justices of the Constitutional Court, judges of the Supreme Court of Appeal and those in the high courts, but all African judges.

This comes after she wrote an opinion piece in which she says the rule of law does not serve African values and interests.

Zondo says the article lacks facts and proper analysis.

He was responding to that article during a briefing a short while ago.

"We as the judiciary have never said that we should not be criticised, we accept that we may be criticised but it should be fair and should have proper factual basis," Zondo said.

"This is an insult to the justices of the Constitutional Court, judges of the Supreme Court of Appeal, those in the high courts and all African judges. It is rich in insults but very poor in substantiation and any analysis. There are no facts which are put up by Ms Sisulu to support what she says."
