Zuma says he has nothing to hide from SARS

Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane is seeking access to the former president's tax records following the DA's request to see Zuma's SARS statements.

JOHANNESBURG - Former president Jacob Zuma says he has nothing to hide from the revenue collector.

This as a court has set aside a subpoena requesting the SARS commissioner, to hand over Zuma's tax information.

Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane is seeking access to the former president's tax records following the DA's request to see Zuma's SARS statements.

The party claims he received benefits which he did not declare.

However, SARS commissioner Edward Kieswetter says handing over  Zuma’s tax information to the public protector would be against the law.

Kieswetter has been subpoenaed by the North Gauteng High Court to hand over the confidential information.

SARS has launched an interdict to stop the public protector from accessing the information.
