UNISA

The University of South Africa is not only the largest open distance learning institution in Africa, it’s also the oldest dedicated distance learning university in the world – attesting to this fact, alumni include Madiba, Robert Sobukwe and Ahmed Kathrada who were able to study while in prison during the dark days of Apartheid.  UNISA boasts an enrolment figure of 400 000 students - that’s one-third of all South African students.  But, over the years, dissatisfied rumblings from students, academics and concerned parties have resulted in roars of anger and the Ministry of Education’s Task Team reached scathing and damning conclusions.  Is UNISA too big to fail?  Or is it too late to save its reputation.

SIHLE’S BREW

Imagine never having tasted brewed coffee until your early 20's - and then when you do, well it steams out a career path.  Sihle Magubane is one cool bru - his love for the bean went further than just becoming a barista.  This aficionado’s journey has taken him from manufacturing to roasting to creating speciality blends worth waking up for.
