AbaThembu king Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo's successor is expected to be chosen this week.

JOHANNESBURG - The search for AbaThembu king Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo&39;s successor is on as he began his 12-year sentence last Thursday.

Dalindyebo handed himself over last week and is now serving his sentence at the Wellington prison outside Mthatha for crimes he committed two decades ago.

The AbaThembu royal family is expected to meet with the Ngangelizwe Royal Family on Monday.

The family says more members from other family branches are showing interest in taking over the kingship.

The family is expected to choose a new king this week.

The families will be meeting at Bumbane Great Place outside Mthatha, in the Eastern Cape where the nominees for a successor will be presented.
