AfriForum fires first salvo against Grace Mugabe

JOHANNESBURG: AfriForum's taking the first step in its battle against Zimbabwean First Lady, Grace Mugabe.

It’s asking the court for permission to cite her as a respondent in an assault case involving South African model, Gabriella Engels.

It's still unclear if the Zimbabwean Embassy will oppose the edictal citation process, due to take place at the North Gauteng High court on Tuesday.

If granted, Zimbabwe's first lady could be formally charged with assault.

Mugabe was granted diplomatic immunity and allowed to leave the country after she allegedly assaulted 20-year-old Engels last month.

She'd found the model in the company of her two sons in Johannesburg.
