JOHANNESBURG - The Ahmed Kathrada Foundation says it’s important for the ANC to address concerns about the controversial Gupta family.

Chairperson Derek Hanekom is among the signatories of a letter from three influential foundations calling for decisive action from the party.

Hanekom is also a member of the ANC&39;s  National Executive Committee.

“In my capacity as chairperson of the foundation I signed the leader on behalf of the entire board of the foundation. The letter is directed at the SG and it really presses some of the concerns about undue influence that some people have in decision making. And these are matters than need to be addressed," Hanekom said.

"The main point here is that there will be voices amongst South Africans that will speak out and speak out about things that they are not happy about, speak about things that are perceived to be wrong that these wrongs can be highlighted and these wrongs can be corrected.”
