PORT ELIZABETH - A controversial televangelist will appear in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate's Court on Thursday.

His case is expected to be referred to the High Court for trial.

The Durban-based pastor was denied bail in June.

He faces 22 charges of contravening the Sexual Offences Act including two of rape.

He's accused of trafficking women and girls from various branches of his church.

They were allegedly taken to a house in Umhlanga Rocks‚ KwaZulu-Natal‚ where they were sexually exploited.
