A bus carrying ANC supporters crashed in Winburg, Free State on Sunday morning.
JOHANNESBURG – A bus occupied by ANC Ekurhuleni volunteers returning from the party&39;s manifesto launch crashed near Kroonstad in the Free State on Sunday.
The bus is from Ward 60 in Grace Flathela Zone in this region.
According to the ANC’s Mzawandile Masina, the Free State MEC of Public Safety Butana Kgomphela is working with the regional leadership to provide more information from the scene of the accident in the Free State.
"There is no official report at this time but we have dispatched a team to the scene.
"We are still getting more information at this time."
ER24 spokesman Russel Meiring said "the scene is very chaotic at the moment.
At least 10 people are dead and 40 people injured.
ANC spokesman Zizi Kodwa released a statement, saying that the party has learnt with sadness of the accident.
"The ANC is still clarifying details about the accident and will issue further details once all pertinent information has been verified," read the statement.
"Our thoughts are with the injured and bereaved at this time."
