JOHANNESBURG - The ANC National Working Committee (NWC) on Monday mandated officials to meet with President Zuma to discuss managing the transition in the interests of the party, according to a media release from the office of the Presidency.

The NWC also discussed the situation in KwaZulu-Natal and the Free State, where battles for the provincial leadership are gearing up amid allegations that the interim committees chosen to lead the party to new provincial elections in the two provinces are biased and weighted in favour of the old leadership.

The working committee agreed that the convenors and coordinators of both Interim structures should ensure that in executing their mandate, they ensure that the provincial structures are balanced and inclusive.
