JOHANNEBSURG - SABC board member Bongani Khumalo has resigned, the department of communications said on Sunday.
"The minister of communications [Faith Muthambi] has confirmed that she has received Dr Khumalo&39;s letter of resignation," department spokesman Ayanda Hollow said.
He said the minister was following due process in considering the resignation.
Khumalo&39;s resignation comes less than a month after SABC board chairwoman Ellen Tshabalala resigned.
Tshabalala had been under fire for not providing proof of her academic qualifications, as requested by a parliamentary committee.
Last year, the public broadcaster&39;s CEO Lulama Mokhobo resigned, while chief finananial officer, Gugu Duda was fired for misconduct.
