JOHANNESBURG - Atul Gupta is a registered voter.

This is according to IEC deputy chairperson, Terry Tselane.

WATCH: Gigaba on Gupta naturalisation

He says the IEC has received a number of queries regarding the Gupta brothers.

“On the issue of the Gupta brothers, we can confirm that a certain Mr Atul Gupta is registered [to vote] at a primary school in Saxonwold." he said.

On Tuesday, Minister of Home Affairs Malusi Gigaba told journalists the brothers do not hold citizenship, even though he had said in June 2017 that the Guptas had been naturalised.

Gigaba is accused of having fast-tracked the naturalisation.
