JOHANNESBURG – South African Boxing legend Jacob 'Baby Jake' Matlala died aged 51 on 7 December 2013. The family of the late boxing legend has spent the day honouring his memory.
The four-time world champion’s death came two days after that of former South African president Nelson Mandela.
The 1.47m fighter’s career spanned over 30 years during which he became an international name.
Matlala’s widow and their two sons reflected on his life as a father, role-model, boxing champion and small dynamite whose impact far outweighed his size.
eNCA’s Cathy Mohlahlana sat down with his family and the full interview will air this weekend on eNCA.
