JOHANNESBURG – The Energy Department on Saturday announced some relief for motorists, with the price of fuel set to drop significantly from midnight on Tuesday.

The price of 93 octane petrol would decrease by 69c/l while the price of 95 octane petrol was set to decrease by 68c/l.

Diesel would drop by 60c/l and the wholesale price of illuminating paraffin by 57c/l.

The maximum retail price for LPGAS would drop by 91c/kg.

The decreases were due to lower international oil prices, as well as the rand strengthening against the US dollar.
