JOHANNESBURG - Cabinet has hit out at the SABC board.
The public broadcaster is accused it of disrespecting the rule of law by re-appointing Hlaudi Motsoeneng in a new position.
Cabinet has urged the board to abide to the Appeals Court ruling, and says attempts to subvert the judgment challenges the authority of the courts.
It's directed Communications Minister Faith Muthambi to urgently address the issue with the board.
Earlier this week, the public broadcaster revealed that Motsoeneng had been made head of corporate affairs.
That's after a court ruling confirming his appointment as Chief Operations Officer, was declared invalid.
At the same time, the public broadcaster reported a loss of R411-million.
