Car burns outside butchery in Durban

A car caught fire on a parking lot outside a popular local butchery in Redhill, north of Durban on Sunday.

DURBAN - A car caught fire in Durban on Sunday afternoon, KwaZulu-Natal paramedics said.

“Paramedics and firefighters were called to a parking lot outside a popular local butchery in Redhill, north of Durban, shortly after 1.30pm this [Sunday] afternoon,” Crisis Medical spokesman Kyle van Reenen said.

Swift action by members of Ethekwini fire and rescue services saw the blaze quickly extinguished.

The cause of the fire was unknown and no injuries were reported on the scene, he said.
