PIETERMARITZBURG -  The ANC in KwaZulu-Natal has been granted leave to appeal the provincial executive committee.

An execution order for the applicants was also granted.

This means that the PEC must vacate office pending the finalisation of the appeals process.

In September, the Pietermaritzburg High Court nullified the 2015 conference.

Provincial leaders appealed the ruling allowing Sihle Zikalala to take over as chairperson.

Members supporting former ANC provincial chairperson, Senzo Mchunu, said the PEC must be dissolved and leaders must leave their offices.
