JOHANNESBURG - Former SABC COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng held a media briefing on Wednesday to address matters relating to his tenure at the public broadcaster.

Motsoeneng is serving suspension and is no longer the chief operations officer of the SABC.

But it seems he still has plenty of supporters.

They gathered at Milpark Hotel in Johannesburg to hear what he had to say.

They took turns, criticising the decision of the new board to reverse the public broadcaster’s 90 percent local content quota.

Last year, the Western Cape High Court ruled that Motsoeneng’s appointment was irrational and unlawful.

The court further ruled that Motsoeneng should not hold any position at the SABC.
