PRETORIA - A prison nurse under cross-examination on behalf of the State, has testified that Oscar Pistorius yelled and shouted at her.

Charlotte Mashabane says Pistorius lashed out at hospital staff. She told the court that on 1 March 2016, Pistorius had yelled at her, demanding that she “Get out!”.

He then apparently proceeded to cover himself. Mashabane said Pistorius also referred to the doctor and the nurses incompetent.

Earlier, the father of Reeva Steenkamp, Barry is testifying during the sentencing proceedings against Oscar Pistorius, who killed the model in 2013.

The 76-year-old man is being cross-examined by State prosecutor, Gerrie Nel.

He&39;s told the North Gauteng High Court that the family&39;s was struggling financially following the death of their daughter, who had been taken care of them.

The proceedings opened Monday when psychologist for the defence Dr. Jonathan Scholtz testified that Pistorius was mentally unstable and should rather serve his sentence outside prison walls.

The National Prosecuting Authority has said it wants him to spend a minimum of 15 years in jail, for shooting dead his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp through a bathroom door at his Pretoria home in February 2013.

Pistorius was initially sent to jail for five years for culpable homicide, and spent a year behind bars in Pretoria before being granted parole and being released in October last year.

But just months later the Supreme Court of Appeal overturned the culpable homicide conviction, making Pistorious guilty of murder.

This necessitated a new sentencing hearing, which started Monday in the North Gauteng High Court.
