PRETORIA - President Jacob Zuma held talks with the security cluster on Wednesday to discuss the US embassy&39;s terror warning.
Minister in the Presidency Jeff Radebe briefed the media on the outcomes of this Cabinet meeting on Thursday morning.
"Regarding the Terror alert issued by the US embassy in Pretoria, Cabinet reiterates the statement issued by the Presidency yesterday (Wednesday), that the security cluster met to discuss the matter further with a view of ensuring the continued safety of all people in our country.
"In addition our government will continue with discuss the US government as part of ongoing cooperation on security matters between two countries.
"Our country SA and the US continue to enjoy strong and cordial relations in political, economic, social and security matters," Radebe said.
The British and Australian embassies have also been called to the meeting but Radebe did not mention them in the briefing.
On Wednesday the department issued a dmarche on the US embassy.
The United States says the terror alert it issued for South Africa is based on credible information.
