JOHANNESBURG - The Gauteng Health Dept has been rocked in recent years by numerous scandals.

The Life Esidimeni crisis refocused public attention on the department.

As part of the recovery plan for the department, Gauteng Premier David Makhura, health MEC Gwen Ramokgopa and health minister Aaron Motsoaledi  announced a high-level intervention team to  put the department back on track. 

National Treasury&39;s former budget chief Michael Sacks is already part of the team. 

Other members will start on the 1st of December.
