JOHANNESBURG - President Jacob Zuma has attempted to start his his annual State of the Nation Address (Sona) in Parliament on Thursday night, amid shouting from the opposition.
EFF members chanted 'tsotsi' and 'Khwezi' while governing party members chanted 'ANC' as Zuma entered the house shortly before 19:00 CAT earlier.
The theme for Zuma’s 10th Sona is “The Year of Oliver Reginald Tambo: Unity in Action Together Moving South Africa Forward”.
Dali Tambo, son of the late Oliver Tambo, had said he hope this year's Sona would "talk about accelerated developments, accelerated transformation and all the things he would have wanted to see for his people.”
