JOHANNESBURG - Social grants beneficiaries are getting more anxious as the pay date draws near.

For one child-headed household in Gauteng, a later payment will bring nothing but hardship.

They rely solely on their social grants for everything.

The social grant money is not enough, the teenager said, and often sacrifices have to be made.

But on the day the grant is paid, he tries to make it special for his siblings.
