MTHATHA - An Mthatha pastor is on the run after allegedly asking his congregation to drink a mysterious oil.

More than 20 people have collapsed after consuming an unidentified liquid at a church service in the City Hall.

Only one person was willing to be taken to hospital.

Paramedics treated 19 patients at the scene.

Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
