Suspended police crime intelligence boss Richard Mdluli is seen outside the Boksburg Magistrate's Court on Friday, 30 September 2011.
JOHANNESBURG - Prosecutors are still studying a court decision to reinstate charges against former crime intelligence boss Richard Mdluli.
The North Gauteng High Court ruled on Tuesday that Mdluli be re-charged without delay.
It&39;s a victory for lobby group Freedom Under Law which had lodged an application for the matter to be reviewed.
Charges of fraud, corruption and murder against Mdluli were controversially withdrawn in 2011.
In his ruling earlier this week, Judge John Murphy described the case as a matter of national importance.
He says it raises serious issues about government’s accountability.
There’s no word yet from the NPA on whether or not it will appeal the ruling.
