JOHANNESBURG - Payments systems company Cash Paymaster Services is claiming over a billion rand from grants agency Sassa.

CPS claims Sassa broke its contract after it signed with other service providers to pay grants in five provinces.

The alleged breach dates back to 2009.

Sassa is adamant the legal action won&39;t affect grant payments.

The Post Office has been selected to distribute grants after the Constitutional Court found the CPS contract unlawful.
