JOHANNESBURG - The CRL Rights Commission has recommended that umbrella bodies -- made up of credible religious leaders -- should oversee what happens in places of worship.
It wants all religious leaders registered and it's tabled a report following an investigation into dodgy religious practices.
This follows numerous cases of controversial religious leaders who appeared before the CRL Rights Commission last year, following complaints of questionable activities in churches.
The commission has now made its findings public.
No comprehensive database of religious leaders and places of worship, - A high number of unregistered religious institutions.— CRLRights Commission (@CRL_Commission) June 27, 2017
It said all leaders should be registered and linked to a location where they conduct ceremonies.
