The scene of the crime.
CAPE TOWN - South Africa’s crime statistics will soon be released on a quarterly basis, Minister in the Presidency Jeff Radebe said on Thursday.
Briefing journalists on the fortnightly cabinet meeting, Radebe said it was decided that one annual comprehensive report and quarterly crime statistics would be released.
“The need for frequent statistics will better enable government decision-making to address issues from crime trends,” he said.
“The annual comprehensive report will accommodate the changes in crime statistics that may result from quality assurance and changes related to the status of the cases that may take place during the year under consideration.”
