DA charges Helen Zille over tweets on colonialism

CAPE TOWN - The Democratic Alliance is charging Western Cape Premier Hellen Zille for her remarks on colonialism.

Zille's been charged for bringing the party into disrepute and for damaging it.

She posted remarks on social media defending colonialism, for which she later apologised.

The party has since distanced itself from the comments.

A date for a formal hearing has not yet been set.
