Dagga couple claim court proceedings are being stalled

The so-called Dagga Couple are months away from heading to the North Guateng high court, to fight for the "re-legalisation" of cannabis. Julian Stobbs and Myrtle Clarke were arrested in 2010 for possession with intent to sell dagga.

PRETORIA - A couple who is fighting to have dagga legalised claimed their court proceedings were being delayed.

Jules and Myrtle Stobbs were charged with drug possession in 2010, is waiting for a ruling on its evidence summary in the North Gauteng High Court.

The duo wants to have dagga legalised for personal use, cultivation and distribution.

On Wednesday, the state argued that the evidence presented contained articles which were not written by experts.

It also listed inconsistencies in the evidence summaries.
