Fasting pastor given stern ultimatum

DURBAN - A Durban pastor, who claims the bottled water he sells cures HIV/Aids, has found himself in some hot water.

He has been told to appear before a commission looking into the apparent religious abuse for financial gain by church leaders, or face arrest.

Pastor Hamilton Nala is fasting and instead sent a junior church leader to the hearings in Durban.

The commission gave Nala a stern ultimatum.

“We have informed his lawyer that... we must do what the act says we must do which is to go to the nearest police station."

 The commission is expected to wrap up the consultations in March and submit a report to Parliament in April.
