Judge Bill Prinsloo ruled that Hawks boss Anwa Dramat's suspension was "unlawful and invalid".

JOHANNESBURG – The National Prosecutions Authority (NPA) has reinstated charges of kidnapping against former Hawks boss Anwa Dramat, former Gauteng head Shadrack Sibiya and police captain Lesley Maluleke.

The charges relate to their role in the rendition of five Zimbabweans in 2010.

It was alleged that some of their property was seized during their arrests.

"After our prosecutors guided extensive investigations and looked at evidence at their disposal they decided to arraign them,” said NPA spokesperson Luvuyo Mfaku.

“Arrangements are under way between our prosecutors and their legal representatives to ensure that a court date is identified within the two weeks that is suitable to all the parties."
