JOHANNESBURG – Fraud-accused Varun Gupta has returned to South Africa from his court-approved trip to India.

Gupta&39;s lawyer says he landed back in South Africa on Saturday night.

Two weeks ago, the Bloemfontein Magistrate&39;s Court granted him permission to attend a religious ceremony in India. The court ordered him to be back by May 27.

Varun Gupta is a nephew to the politically-connected Gupta brothers.

He has been linked to corruption in the Free State&39;s Estina Dairy Project.
