Gift of the Givers joins rescue efforts in Nepal

JOHANNESBURG - Disaster rescue non-profit organisation, Gift of the Givers has put together a team to conduct rescue operations in Nepal after the country was struck by a deadly 7.9 magnitude earthquake on Saturday.

The organisation&39;s Imtiaz Sooliman says the logistics around getting into the country may be very difficult.

He said the team had already gathered all relevant equipment it would need to assist.

The capital’s airport has been closed following the quake which has killed almost 2000 people.
