DURBAN - Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane has released a damning report into killings and illegal evictions at the Glebelands Hostel in uMlazi.
Mkhewebane found that eThekweni Municipality, police and the KZN government failed to provide a safe environment for Glebelands residents.
The report says police and the municipality's failure to act, constitute improper conduct and maladministration.
It paints a picture of a municipality that's lost control of the hostel, leaving residents at the mercy of warring factions.
