Heatwave heading to Cape Town

Gauteng, the western highveld of Mpumalanga, Limpopo's southwest bushveld, North West, Free State, and the northern and northeastern parts of the Northern Cape will be affected.

CAPE TOWN - The SA Weather Service is expecting a heatwave to grip parts of the Western Cape over the next few days.

This comes amidst a water crisis in the province.

Temperatures are predicted to reach 39 degrees Celcius in Cape Town.

It threatens to speed up the arrival of day zero in the city.

The city&39;s taps could run dry around 20 May 2018.

Dam levels in the province currently stand at 35 percent.

Heatwave conditions are also expected across parts of the Northern Cape.
